Nam Chien Hydropower Project borrows additional capital

– The Prime Minister agrees  to lend the Nam Chien Hydropower Project an additional loan from the State’s investment credit capital according to the capital structure that the Vietnam Development Bank has lent compared to the total initial investment and the India’s ODA shortage.

At the same time, in order for Nam Chien Hydropower Project to continue to borrow additional capital from the Vietnam Development Bank, the Prime Minister agreed that Song Da Group and its subsidiaries could borrow investment credit capital from the State. exceed the allowable limit compared to the actual charter capital of the Vietnam Development Bank.

Nam Chien hydroelectric project is the project with the largest arch main dam in Vietnam.

The project was built on Chien stream (a branch of Da river) in the area of 2 communes Ngoc Chien and Chieng Muon (Muong La district) about 35 km upstream from Son La hydroelectric project.

The project consists of 2 power units with a total design capacity of 200 MW, expected to supply 800 million kWh/year of electricity to the national power grid.
